Flip, Flop, Flapjacked [Protein Pancakes]

Unlike Ricky Bobby’s kids, however, these pancakes are NOT all jacked up on Mountain Dew, but instead the protein power of quinoa flour and wheyIMG_8886 (1024x683)

Flapjacked Protein Pancakes are great way to incorporate a high fiber, all-natural  breakfast into your day.IMG_9380 (1024x683)

And, as we should all know by now, getting something into your stomach first thing in the morning [aside from just coffee ;)] is one of the simplest–and most beneficial–habits you can get into for improving your overall health and daily energy level.IMG_9585 (1024x683)

While I may have had some difficulty successfully cooking these pancakes initially…IMG_8857 (1024x683)

the only thing you need to add is water (or other liquid of your choice). It’s really as simple as stirring and heating up a pan.*

I thought I’d like the freedom of flavor additions with the basic Buttermilk best, but I have to say, the flavors of the Cinnamon Apple and Banana Hazelnut are incredible, and I almost prefer them.IMG_8848 (1024x683)

(The Buttermilk has a definite quinoa undertone, which is not necessarily a bad thing, unless you are trying to convince a stalwart Bisquick believer to change his ways.)IMG_9571 (1024x683)

I’ve enjoyed experimenting with toppings–and trying to actually cook the darn things correctly-–and I must say that I’ve learned it doesn’t matter what the finished product looks like, they still taste great regardless. :)IMG_9380 (1024x683)

I have to say I agree with you on the flavors…and just fyi, the apple cinnamon went PERFECTLY with some fig jam (and chicken…yup, I went there)! 😉
