Chocolate Caramel Day Giveaway! (Balance Bars)

So, when I was teaching elementary school, I became “famous” (the way one does) for these caramelized brownies I often made that sometimes started from scratch and sometimes started from Pillsbury Family Style Fudge. They were adapted from a super-Southern former Food Network star but I altered the recipe so much I claimed them as my own.

This is about National Chocolate Caramel Day!

OK, I don’t know if it’s national. I don’t know if it’s real.*

But I DO know that in honor of the day Balance Bar has offered to give away one box of their Caramel Nut Blast bars to a reader o’ mine. 450

And you want them. As a grad student I have rediscovered the importance of having a quick snack you can feel relatively good about. Their 40-30-30 balanced ratio of carbs-protein-fat and a good source of vitamins and minerals in a pinch.

They taste like Twix. And who doesn’t love Twix?

this balance bar sounds amazing. I love caramel and nuts just plain by themselves. I balance my life with work and kids by finding time for my family

Oh yes puhlease to that Twix. My favorite chocolate caramel treat is those samoa girl scout cookies. What is better than coconut, chocolate, and caramel?

AND I find balance by going to yoga, drinking tea, and generally getting in bed at 9 PM when I feel overwhelmed. Haha.

My favorite chocolate caramel treat this week is a square of dark chocolate dipped in caramel ice cream topping.
I find balance in my life by making sure I eat at least 5 servings of produce a day and by taking a nightly after-dinner stroll, even if it’s just around the block. These 2 things help ensure I get at least some nutritious food and activity in my day

You hit the nail on the head with Twix… Seriously my favorite thing ever. Man do I want it now.

I am a grad student, too, and the way I find balance is making myself take one full day each week to just..relax. Be with family, friends, sleep, actually cook dinner… It’s not ideal for cramming studying, but if you stay organized enough throughout the week, you can make it to Sunday!

Yum! Pretzels with chocolate and caramel dipping is the BEST! With a side of running to help me think clearer, that is!

Up until yesterday I would have said Twix, that definitely is a favorite childhood chocolate/caramel mix, BUT it just so happens that a client brought us in dark chocolate covered caramel with sea salt. Um. life changing.

I find balance by just enjoying life, eating what I want and keeping it all in moderation. There is no perfect diet, and if I didn’t have sweets in my life, well that’s a life I wouldn’t want to have! I honor my cravings and listen to my body. I run around so much at work I think I deserve a few sweet treats now and then 😉

Oh Twix. The best. I prefer the mini ones from Halloween because I can pop the entire thing in my mouth and then another and another. Hands down favorite.

Balance my life? Well…I’m not one for giving advice on that, but I think the key is to look at the big picture sometimes. Will this matter tomorrow? Will it matter a month from now? A year from now? If not, chances are, it’s not a big deal…not sure if that is really about balance, but I like it :)

I’m definitely a dark chocolate and caramel person. Rogers Chocolates are my favourites and they have sea salt on top. Mmmm.

I try to find balance by practicing yoga. I haven’t been doing it much lately, but I know it makes me feel so much better when I do.

I rarely get to eat one – but a Snicker’s is the perfect chocolate and caramel treat for me. To find balance – I seem to do so much better with everything if I get enough sleep. Must be getting old!

My favorite chocolate caramel treat is a soy chocolate caramel latte from a local coffee shop. My balance is achieved when I have a little down time after my twins go to bed each night. I read, catch up on emails, watch tv, etc.

My favorite chocolate caramel treat is Rolo’s. I can seriously eat an entire bag..I can’t control myself. I maintain balance by reading..I love to read and try to take a half hour at least a day to read a good thriller/mystery book.

My favorite caramel chocolate treat has to be the cookie Twix bars! I achieve balance by exercising daily and surfing the internet.

I bake a “poke” cake. Mix 1/2 can caramel topping and 1 can of condensed milk. Bake a german chocolate cake, when it has cooled a little, poke holes all over the cake and pour caramel/milk mixture over it. Then cover in heath bits. Put in the refrigerator, the next day (if you can wait that long), top with cool whip and more heath bits. Holy yum!

My favorite chocolate caramel treat would probably be Twix. I love that candy bar so much. I find balance in my life by trying not to sweat the small stuff and take a deep breath.

i find balance with making the enjoyable things a priority when life gets crazy – i have a plan. as for nuts, caramel, include chocolate – a sundae!

Caramel apples are my favorite caramel treat. As for balance, I practice yoga to help me balance mentally and physically. My mind is always much calmer after practicing.
