Java Jivin’ January [Nutty Butter]

by Sarah on January 1, 2013 · 126 comments

When Sister Smart was about 4 or 5 years old, she hardly spoke. [I mean, near mute-like tendencies.] However, one thing she did do was SING. All. The. Time. One of her favorite songs was “Java Jive” as refashioned by Manhattan Transfer. To this day, I often find myself singing the words in my head as I take my first sip o’ joe in the morning, or tea at night. I do not, however, do the little dance she did. But I’ll try to get it on video if I can.

———————————

I love coffee.I love tea.I love the Java Jive,

And it loves me!

Coffee––and tea––the Java and me––a cup, a cup, a cup, a cup, a cup!

I love java, sweet and hot.

Oops! Some grounds fell into my processor ‘pot.’Spiced up like chai–Nutty Butter and I–A cup, a jar (?) a cup, a jar (?) a cup. :) Yes, you Java Jivin,’ jellyrollin’ jazz-sters

January brings the Java Jive to the Nutty Butter kitchen!Caramel Latte

This blend of almonds, cashews, peanuts, and sunflower seeds is a sweet, coffee-laced Nutty Butter that goes down smooth like a decadently buttery afternoon pick-me-up, with just a hint of coffee flavor rounding out each bite. [Mama Smart gave it two VERY enthusiastic thumbs up.]

Chai (Nut) Tea

With a new year comes a new-ly reformulated Chai Tea Nutty Butter, adding just the right amount of sweetness and vanilla to balance the spice of ginger, cinnamon, and cardamom.

My favorite way to caffinate is with a latte with sea salt caramel syrup from a local coffee house… although chai is a VERY close second!

so i know i am pretty blessed and pretty spoiled when it comes to being able to have tried nutty butter, but you just HAD to go and add coffee. seriously, i am a coffee addict, coffee snob, coffee obsessed.

I really don’t think I can start my day without coffee. At home I keep it pretty simple. Yes I have quite a few flavors to choose from (i blame Target) but its usually just adding some stevia and almond milk.

dont get my started on starbucks. white chocolate soy lattes own me.

now all i can think about is coffee nut butter.

So I totally weened myself off caffeine by using Cafix! It’s awesome. Prepared like instant coffee but made with chicory and beets – no coffee, no caffeine. But imparts an awesome coffee taste. I add some So Delicious Unsweetened Coconut Milk, some cinnamon and some stevia – sometimes even kicking it up a notch with liquid hazelnut Stevia – Bam! So good!
