As I am currently home for a completely unexpected snow day–they were calling for simply “overnight flurries”–I figured I would take a minute (or 45) to fill out one of the surveys I have enjoyed seeing Brittany and Lauren complete.
I am still working on Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver, which was our Book Club book for this month. I absolutely love it, but I’ve had to take some breaks for The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick and a young adult fiction novel called The Selection by Kiera Cass that Heather recommended (and I liked a little too much). I just started The Chaperone by Laura Moriarty, and now pretty much the only thing I want to be doing is reading that.
I pretty much exclusively listen to Taylor Swift’s Red and Cosmo Radio on Sirius XM.
Au natural. I used to hate having my nails painted, and then fell in love with rather jarring colors–green, yellow, blue–this summer. I think I stripped the nails though, so now I am trying to get them strengthened again.
That Kroger Private Selection Sweet Cinnamon Spice is not only
dirt cheap inexpensive, it smells (and tastes) like Christmas!
Technically, I just ate a bowl of Hot and Sour Jungle Curry and one of the herb-infused savory protein bars I’ve been working on, but I think my breakfast does a much better job of summing up my current food fixations: proats (at any time of day…), cold roasted squash, Gold Rush apples, blueberries, crystallized and/or candied ginger, and (always) nut butter.
Current Favorite TV Show:
Current Wish List:
I had a ten-mile, indoor (!) run this afternoon that was an exhilarating, unexpected, wave-and-smile-at-anyone-who-looks-even-vaguely-familiar surprise. [I swear I intended to run three miles, elliptical 30 minutes, but I felt like I was on what Sister Smart calls ‘new legs’ and just kept running.]
Hence, the current need stated above.
Current Bane of My Existence:
The postal service! I have been missing so much mail, and it is VERY frustrating. [Especially when there are Netflix movies starring Channing Tatum and/or Bradley Cooper involved.]
Current Celebrity Crush:
I have a girl crush on Kate Middleton. Does that count?
Oh, and both Justin Timberlake and Zac Efron will always have a place in my tween-implant heart.
The snow day enabled me to pack and ship about 95% of January’s Nutty Butter a few days ahead of schedule!
Refer to the post-run photo above, and substitute shorts for long black yoga pants, topped off with a matching black zip-up hoodie, and black (very faux) Uggs.
SO many things. Some secret plans, hope for being able to represent my favorite vegan protein powder, Plant Fusion, at Blend (if I get a ticket!!!), and an upcoming visit to Kentucky to see this girl.
Tired (from my run), ambivalent (about the snow–love having the day off, but I am not looking forward to being in school until mid-June), and successful–my Meatless Monday A-Z recipe (part one) turned out great!
The latest installment of “If Downton Abbey Took Place Entirely On Facebook.” I rarely laugh out loud when I’m alone, but whoever is making these has figured out how to get me to bust out a number of chuckles. [Make sure you check out the one for episode two…it is even better.]
