‘Tis the Season to be Nutty…

There seems to have been a bit of a flavor theme around The Smart Kitchen lately.

almost makes up for the tragedy that was sold out pumpkin spice. almost.

From morning–

gingerbread proats w. muesli, apples, and cranberries

—when these particular Capella drops became a permanent fixture on the kitchen counter–

tastes yummy mixed in yogurt, too...

to night [when it infiltrated my nightly cup (or two..or three) of tea].

I couldn’t fight it.So I let it win.And I’m pretty darn happy about it, too.

I am not lying when I say that the first of the December Nutty Butter flavors is pretty much the most irrestible concoction of rich, sweet molasses and spiced ginger I have ever come across. I literally cannot stop eating it once it is made. I don’t know what more  I can tell you than that.

Run, run, Mr. Cookie Man,

If anyone can turn Gingerbread into Nutty Butter…

Considering the overload of orders that was November–of which I am incredibly thankful, but also distraught at my tardiness in shipping–I almost didn’t want to release the second flavor this month.

But, well, I’m a bit like a proud mama wanting to show off my babies to the world sometimes.

And there is really only one time of year for sweet, creamy, buttery nutmeg-and-cinnamon spiked ‘nog, now isn’t there?

Now, if only I could find the Hoops & Yo Yo e-card that I credit for making me even aware that eggnog* was a tradition.


I didn’t drink it growing up.

But I’ll happily eat it now.

To quote a taste tester: “How’d you get milk in it?”

My answer? ‘I didn’t. I’m just that good.’ 😉

After that, you will be added to a waiting list for extra jars should I not receive payments or I miraculously have time to make extra…

Note: I am setting a cap for orders this month at 75 jars. Once I hit that, I will accept no more orders. This is the only way I can possibly get them to you by Christmas.
