Secret’s out: I am a failure as a food blogger.
Why?
Well, many reasons.
(Including Thursday morning when I accidentally deleted my entire blog. Oops.)
But this time of year, it would be because I have yet to crack open a can of pumpkin.
However, I have begun wearing out the twist tie on this glorious bag of seasonally appropriate and ‘wheretheheckdidyougetthatbecauseineedsomeNOW‘ powder.
If you ask me, there is only one thing to do with pumpkin powder:*
*OK, actually, if you ask me I can think of a bunch of things to do with it, but I’m going for dramatic effect here, people.
Put it in the food processor…
…and turn it into Nutty Butter!
That’s right. In case you couldn’t have figured it out–or at least secretly hoped–the first of November’s featured Nutty Butter flavors is Pumpkin Pie.
And so bizarrely does it taste just like pumpkin pie that the word ‘wow’ might escape from your lips. [Alternatively, you might look confused and say, "Howdid you do that?"
I almost stopped with one. I really did.
I had this idea of a flavor in my head…
…and I tested it out so many times.
But either the flavor was off, or the texture was weird, or in some way, it just wasn’t right.
I won’t sell you a butter unless I am a believer.
In my opinion, it’s just not Nutty Butter unless you physically have to restrain yourself from continuing to consume it directly from the jar with a spoon.*
*Sadly, that is too long to be a tagline.
Cranberry Shortbread
Bonus: This second flavor is peanut free!
although the department of agriculture advises that i warn you it is still processed in a facility with and around peanuts
And even though I have beautiful new labels designed by the irreplaceable and unmatched Calee Himes, I couldn’t help but make some handmade ones for old times sake.
also it took me so long to decide about the cranberry that she hasn't had a chance to design that one yet
Now, how do you get your mouth hands on them?

I will accept orders until midnight on Wednesday, November 7, 2012.
After that, you will be added to a waiting list for extra jars should I not receive payments or I miraculously have time to make extra…
Note: I have had to raise the price to $7.00 (50 cent increase) for each 4.5 oz. jar because of what my roommate calls the ‘swanky’ nuts, specialized ingredients, and small batch nature of my business is necessary…at least for this month.

Fav Thanksgiving tradition: Ketucky Derby Pie. It’s like pecan pie, but with chocolate chips a bourbon. Now that I think of it, that would make an awesome #nuttybutter…

My favorite thanksgiving dish is the stuffing my mom makes just for me- no meat!
My children would say my chocolate pecan pie is their favorite Thanksgiving tradition – but I would say cornbread dressing. And, I hope I win because you already have my address because … I received my wonderful, delicious nutty butter order in the mail yesterday! I couldn’t wait to take my first bite of the apple pie and caramel apple flavors straight from the jar! My husband has been sick so I told him he couldn’t have any – just kidding! I loved it Sarah! It is deliciously awesome as are you
Apple pie is my favorite of the two – and now this pumpkin will have to get on my list too! Have a lovely weekend!
Mmmmm, pumpkin pie!!!!! My favorite Thanksgiving treat is cornbread stuffing. And squash. And pie. Okay, I love it all.
I like Nutty Butter on the ‘book!
I’d like to make an epic special request. Half a liter of honey-roasted cinnamon and the other half pumpkin. Lets make this happen.
Ohmanohmanohmanohmanohman I hope you were asking me about cranberries in reference to swaps in relation to that nutty butter above because, um, that sounds amazing. (And I’ve opened a grand total of one can of pumpkin this fall. And only because I wanted to get it out of my cabinet. Yup, needed a good dusting first.)
I love sitting around the table and talking about what we’re thankful for!!

One of my favorite Thanksgiving traditions is to make a sweet potato souffle in individual ramekins… Tasty! I follow you on Facebook…
My favorite part of Thanksgiving is still wowing the people I hang out with that I’m not eating Turkey and am usually eating an acorn squash, Tofurkey sausage or some other concoction. After 5 years now, they are still stunned when I don’t get turkey.
My favorite treat is the BREAD my mom makes…it’s kind of like Easter bread but more savory..

Oh goodness these flavors look AMAZING! My favorite Thanksgiving treat isn’t a typical Turkey Day dish, but my grandma always made her special graham cracker cream pie for Thanksgiving. As a proud member of the kids table (still at age 28…) we would attempt to hide it from the adults so that we could have it all to ourselves.
) It’s a family recipe she refused to share with anyone, but wrote down various versions of it that we found after she passed away. My cousin and I are still trying to perfect the pie to this day.

Oh my goodness. I need this pumpkin nut butter in my life. My favorite dish at Thanksgiving is this dish made with sweet potato, coconut oil, coconut butter and cinnamon that my mom makes, its amazing!
Oh.My.Gosh. These look absolutely incredible. My mouth is watering as I read this post!
My favorite Thanksiving tradition would have to be running the Turkey Trot in the morning with my Dad and sister, coming home to my mom cooking some delicious food (making the house smell amazinggg) and of course watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving day parade! Ahhh I really cannot wait.
By the way, I absolutely love your blog. You are super funny and clever and I look forward to your posts! (Not trying to be a suck-up or anything, I just really like your blog!)

My favorite Thanksgiving traditions are cooking the turkey with my dad and making mashed potatoes with my mom. I’m also following Nutty Butter on Twitter, and I tweeted about the giveaway!
I liked “Nutty Butter” on facebook!
My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is baking pies and then shopping on Black Friday with friends or family!
Hands down, my favorite is pecan pie!
My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is getting the whole gang together in my home and preparing them a fabulous feast and having 10 different conversations going on all at once and actually knowing what is being said in all of those conversations and then hearing my uncle Mike laugh. Then, when it’s all over, flop into bed with a small bowl containing a mixture of all my favorite tastes from the day.
YUM!! I tried to make a pumpkin peanut butter a few weeks ago and failed miserably…miserably…sad day 2012.
And I absolutely love the candied yams at Thanksgiving. Normally I try to keep sweet potatoes or yams without all the added sugar but at Thanksgiving it’s allowed. Along with the cranberry sauce from a can. LOVE that stuff.
At my house, we sometimes go out to eat on Thanksgiving. As strange as it may sound, it’s actually really fun.
I love cooking with my mom for Thanksgiving! our tim in the kitchen is almost better than our time at the table!
My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is making sandwiches the following day with all the leftovers: turkey+stuffing+cranberry sauce+potatoes+gravy+anything else I can get my hands on = perfection.
And I like Nutty Butter on FB too!
My favorite Thanksgiving tradition was when all the cousins would camp out in the backyard for the holiday weekend, but we had to give that up years ago. We still all get together (with our kids now!) for Thanksgiving and my favorite part of the meal is the squash casserole.
What did you think of the pumpkin powder? I bought some (though through a different source looking at your packaging) and I wasn’t a fan. It had an odd aroma in the bag that definitely carried over into my cookies. But I couldn’t tell if this was an issue with all pumpkin powder, or just the bag I bought.
I haven’t actually used it for anything but Nutty Butter–I want to make sure I have enough to fill orders before I start getting too wild with it–but it tastes and smells just like pumpkin.
yay, a giveaway! I also like nutty butter on fb.
My favorite TG tradition is pretty random, but I think you’ll appreciate it. The food we all get excited for is not turkey, not mashed potatoes, not pie. No, it’s peanut butter stuffed dates during the pre-meal cocktail time. It’s a long-standing tradition that grandma stuffs dates with peanut butter, then rolls then in sugar, then we fight over the bowl. We ONLY have them on Thanksgiving. When I got married and I spent TG with my in-laws for the first time, I made the pb dates and added them to the table, but they just didn’t get it.
Later on I learned that these were my great great grandfather’s favorite treat, and his birthday was often on Thanksgiving, and that’s why we have them at Thanksgiving.
And you can bet this year I’m going to stuff dates with something a little more interesting than Skippy!
oh here’s a separate entry to say I like nutty butter on fb.
