Brace yourselves, my little chickadees, because this is the last morning–at least if you live in Charlottesville or the surrounding counties–that you will get stuck behind a bus on your morning commute.
Get your flip-flops ready…
…and prepare to watch your* garden grow.
Because after today, we enter the season of local festivals…
…endless concerts and shows…
…and al fresco dining.
After today, we will find ourselves in the season of salad–
–both fruit…
…and veggie.*
*Perhaps even…both?
Start practicing your best ‘Baby’ impression now…
…because you’ll be carrying A LOT of watermelon.
That’s right, y’all.
School’s.
Out.
For.
Summer.

I carried a watermelon is pretty much my favorite movie quote ever. Along with any quote from So I Married An Ax Murderer.
We’ve been on summer break for a week and a half now. It’s a little different tune when it means you have two kids to entertain day in and day out during the hottest months – we are already toeing 100 in South Texas. Enjoy your break!!
Dude, I want to see the rest of the pictures from our awesome “Nobody puts Baby in a corner” photo shoot. Also, let’s binge eat watermelon tonight, deal?
woohooo! enjoy your summer!
i LOVE when school ends at u.w.. all the pesky undergrads are done. you can actually drive through campus without worrying that it’s passing time and students will be blocking every cross-walk, and the lines at subway for lunch are GONE!
Ah, the last day of school. Memories.
I cringe every time Baby says, “I carried a watermelon”, mostly because I say awkward things like that all the time and she just reminds me of it.
Happy Summer, Ms. Pembs!
Congrats on your last day!
It ended on Wednesday up here
