One of the benefits of attending the Health Starts Here meetup at Whole Foods last week was an e-mail in my inbox bearing the title “Quinoa Cookies.”
Starting with a blend of cooked quinoa, peanut butter, honey, and oats (and a dash of salt)…
*R.I.P Archer Farms Vanilla Cranberry.
I had so much fun making these cookies* [and so much (could not control myself) fun eating them]–
*Yes, sometimes I get so excited I come straight home and start cooking without removing my winter coat.
…that I used them for my post on Breathe Magazine’s blog today.
For the full recipe–and to read witty remarks about quinoa being the ‘it’ girl of Grain-ywood, and oatmeal being the legendary, but aging, movie star–check out my post over at Breathe.

I want these! I’ve been craving cookies like crazy but don’t have any gluten-free flours (too expensive). I do have quinoa flakes, though!
They look wonderful! Checking it out!!

Totally awesome blog!!!! Love it! Still at the hospital looks like a long night. Will let you know when Isaac arrives
What a great tribute to your favorite peanut butter:) I think dried cranberries are one of the best cookie add ins. They are 100 times more delicious than plain raisins.
Too cool! I’ve never thought to add quinoa to a cookie, but I’m always discovering more and more awesome sounding uses for it. This is definitely bookmarked
Thanks!
Love the new look, Sarah! The cookies look yummy and protein-y, too! Need to try these!
I heart quinoa.
And cookies.
And peanut butter.
I also saw a recipe for quinoa pizza bites that I’ll be making REAL soon – and I plan on sharing the recipe.
Loving the new layout!
Not sure how I missed this recipe until now, but O.M.G. I am so making these. (You can tell I am extra excited by the upper case-lettered, punctuated omg.)
These look delicious! You had me at quinoa cookies and then you went and said there is coconut in them (!!!) Can’t wait to make a batch
