So when Lindsay asked who might want to participate in a blogger “pen pal” exchange, I immediately responded with a resounding, “COUNT ME IN!”
I was matched up to the be the recipient of a package shipped from North Carolina, from Carissa and her husband Kyle, whose blog, Fit2Flex, is focused on fitness, training, and how a healthy lifestyle and healthy eating can help you meet your goals. While I might not know much about “high intensity training,” I do know about food. [And most of the time it's healthy. ]I was excited to see that Carissa had made ma a “snack pack” of goodies she loves and wanted to share. As I rarely feel like what I eat constitutes the requirements of what most human beings consider “a meal,” snacks are where I’m at.Clearly, she had some sixth sense about my love for peanut butter, as Larabars of the Peanut Butter Cookie and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip variety fell out into my eagerly awaiting hands, along with raisins, in perfect snacking size.*
*And to be honest, raisins just mean the opportunity to eat peanut butter on celery in my opinion.Apparently her sixth sense also let her know I’d just polished off my stash of Goji berries. Did you know they are eaten by Himalayan monks? Totally going to use that fun fact to sell these at work…My love for trying anything I’ve never seen before was satiated with the sight of this beautiful (seriously, how pretty is it?) package of Mila, a raw chia product that improves recovery time and gives you essential fatty acids and good-for-you-minerals.
My need to acquire as much free stuff as possible while grocery shopping was met with some free Bird’s Eye Voila! meal coupons. I haven’t had a chance to check those out (or check out with those*) yet but you know I will soon.
*Get it? Huh? Huh?They also sent me a T-shirt for Prostate Cancer Awareness month–which was all of September. So I’m a little late in reminding y’all, but it’s never too late for you (or your hubby/friendboy/boyfriend/work spouse) to get screened!
Last, but not nearly least, was my favorite prize of all…obviously a misplaced “I’m not really from the South but I pretend to be anyway” faux Southerner in Texas needs a little love from Georgia (by way of North Carolina) in the form of some Sweet Potato & Honey Butter! Now don’t worry about missing out this month, y’all….because you, too, can be involved in the Foodie Pen Pal blogger ring of October (even if you don’t blog, we still love ya and want to share!).
Just contact Miss Lean Green Bean Lindsay at firstname.lastname@example.org by October 4th, and include the following information:
-Your full name
-Your email address
-Your blog name/address
-Your twitter handle (if applicable)
But hopefully I will realize BEFORE I write you a letter that you live in the same state that I do and won’t have to cross out the words “Greetings from Texas” and write in “Austin” instead…like I had to do for Kayla.
