Happy Fourth of July!
I am willing to bet you quite a bit of money (or maybe just a piece of cake) that you ate something involving strawberries and blueberries today.
If you were like me, you made an angel food cake.* You might have even covered the angel food cake in a mixture of whipped cream and marshmallow fluff before adding some patriotic berries.
* a week in advance so you could pre-write and schedule this post since you’d be out of town
Forgive them.
It’s the American thing to do.*
*The Smart Kitchen thing to do on this day is listen to Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers “Fourth of July” 5,000 times but I’ll let you decide if you want to participate in that or not.

4th of July desserts are my favorite – in fact any dessert that is based on a holiday gets me all giddy inside. Perhaps its the fact that I feel holiday desserts have no calories. Same with all holiday food. It's true, right?
Haha…..maybe
