I Hereby Grant You Permission…

…to celebrate the holiday season!**In this case, Christmas. [Also, Hanukkah/Chanukkah should you prefer, although my hat won’t appeal to you quite as much in that case.] There are lots of “holiday seasons” so I thought I should clarify. Yet, no one feels the need to clarify when saying ’tis the season. I mean, what if I thought you meant the season of summer? Now, that would be awkward, wouldn’t it? I have said before, and I will say it again, that getting too excited too soon is simply silly.

But the turkey’s been carved and the cranberry sauce consumed,* and we can now all commence the festive nature of the wintry Yuletide.

*At least until then next go ’round at Christmas dinner. Or, you know…dinner tonight.

I give you permission to indulge in seasonal treats, whether they be peppermint ice cream (with chocolate fudge please!)…

…or fun flavored yogurts.[Seriously, if you have a Safeway store near you…BUY THIS.]

Maybe seasonal Clif Bars are more your thing.Or perhaps just holiday blend coffees? Perhaps it is the appearance of pomegranates that strikes your fancy this time of year.Or foodie porn in the mail!Maybe you are just excited to watch this over and over and over…

Or maybe this one…
Or this. :) [You’ve probably never seen it…but you should!]
Maybe you just want to listen to All I Want For Christmas Is You on repeat and choreographing dance numbers in your head while on the elliptical machine at the gym.

Or Britney Spears’ “Santa, Can You Hear Me?”, Hanson’s cover of “What Christmas Means to Me,”

…or ‘NSYNC’s “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays,”

which, together, form the trifecta of spectacularly poptastic Christmas tunes. [All I Want For Christmas” doesn’t count…it is so amazing it is out of the realm of ever needing to be ranked or classified.]

Maybe you just want to hang out in your house wearing a Santa hat.

I mean…not that anyone would want to do that….

Whatever you have been patiently waiting to do, eat, watch, or sing that makes you cheery this time of year, you need wait no more.

I grant you permission to be a crazy Christmas queen (or king).

You’re welcome.
